About Kind Closure

Built from lived experience — not a boardroom brief.

It started when I lost my Mum.

I was her executor. In those first difficult weeks I did what most people do — I contacted the bank, credit cards, utilities, and everyone who needed to know. I was focused on the practical things that keep a life running on paper.

What I never thought about were her online accounts. Social media, email, subscriptions — the quiet digital life she had built over years. It simply did not occur to me that it needed the same care.

Then her Facebook was hacked. The account was taken over. Memories, messages, and a presence that meant so much to our family were suddenly out of our hands — and there was nothing I could do.

That helplessness stayed with me. Kind Closure exists so other families do not have to learn the hard way.

What we built

Kind Closure is a calm, private way to map your digital accounts — Facebook, Google, Netflix, email, banks, and dozens more — and record what you want done with each one when you are gone.

You download an encrypted .legacy lockbox file and share it with your Digital Executor, along with a passphrase only they will need. When the time comes, they open our free Executor Portal, see your wishes account by account, and follow clear steps to close, memorialise, or transfer each service.

Planning is free. The Executor Portal is always free for families. You only pay when you download your encrypted file — because that is when you are taking something permanent and precious away with you.

Our promise

We built Kind Closure the way we wished tools had worked when we needed them most: with dignity, clarity, and no unnecessary exposure of private information.

  • Your legacy data is encrypted in your browser. We never see your accounts, wishes, or passphrase.
  • Executors get practical guidance — not a maze of customer service phone trees.
  • We speak plainly. Bereavement is hard enough without jargon or upselling.

Start with a small step

You do not need to finish everything today. Browse the free checklist, plan at your own pace, or share the Executor Portal with someone you trust.
